Mr. Walter did commercial litigation in the U.S. District Court earlier in his career but has since focused entirely on civil and criminal litigation in Maryland’s State Court system. For over 25 years, Mr. Walter has focused on litigation – he is what is known as a trial lawyer.
On the civil side of the law, Mr. Walter does everything from breach of contract, automobile accident torts, wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability, etc.; on the criminal side of the law, Mr. Walter provides an aggressive legal defense to people charged with DWIs & DUIs, driving suspended, first degree and second-degree assaults, malicious destruction of property, simple possession of CDS and possession with the intent to distribute CDS (to name a few).

Meet John Walter
In 1990, John Leo Walter, Esquire, received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Baltimore. Thereafter, in 1992, Mr. Walter went on to obtain his Master’s in Government & Public Administration from the University of Baltimore, graduating with Honors. In 1995, Mr. Walter earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Walter not only graduated at the top of his class, he was also awarded the American Jurisprudence Award in Scholarly Writing and served with distinction as a Senior Associate Editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. Mr. Walter was honored to have Rutgers Law School use his Law Review Casenote as supplemental reading for its first-year property law students.
